Community Information Session: Trout River Restoration at Herman Vogler Conservation Area

  • Rogers City Senior Center 131 Superior Street Rogers City, MI, 49779 United States (map)

Restoration of the Trout River at Herman Vogler Conservation Area is moving forward, with project partners Huron Pines, Barr Engineering and the Presque Isle Conservation District advancing design work for the restored river and conservation area. Designs are expected to be about 60% complete for this event, and partners are inviting input from anyone in Presque Isle County to help inform the next phase of the project.

Join Huron Pines staff and project partners from 4-6pm at the Rogers City Senior Center for a community visioning session focused on the Trout River restoration and the future of Herman Vogler Conservation Area. Your input is crucial to ensure this space is meaningful and valuable to the community. Share your ideas for recreation opportunities, river access, wildlife viewing areas, trails, and other nature-based features you'd like to see.

The session will provide attendees:

  • An opportunity for direct input on potential features and uses for Herman Vogler Conservation Area

  • Updates on the Trout River restoration project and preliminary designs

  • Visual renderings of what the restored river could look like

  • Information about the project timeline and decisions made to date

  • Interaction with project partners from Huron Pines, Barr Engineering, and Presque Isle Conservation District

This event is an open-house format (come and go as you would like).

This event is family-friendly. Refreshments will be provided.
