Sinkhole Science: Engaging Place- and Problem-Based Lessons
During this workshop, participants will tour a sinkhole, engage in a problem-based engineering activity, and leave with classroom-ready activities aligned to multiple Michigan educational standards. The experience will also feature demonstrations of ground-penetrating radar, hands-on models of groundwater and sinkhole formation, explorations of differing rock properties, and a variety of supporting educational resources.

South Huron Community Funds GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
The South Huron Advisory Committee is now accepting grant applications, offering local organizations an opportunity to access funding for projects that strengthen and enhance South Huron’s vibrant communities. Application Deadline: April 1, 2026
Coast Watchers Volunteer Training
Coast Watchers volunteers are part of a dedicated group that monitors sections of the Lake Huron shoreline on a weekly basis from May to October to gather data. Volunteers are trained to record air and water temperature, seasonal changes in water levels, occurrences of sensitive or invasive plants, fish die-offs, storm damage and pollution.
